A new version of the beloved Slurpee is debuting at 7-Eleven this month, only this time the flavor is potato. Mashed potato, actually. That's right, the chain now has its very own mashed potato vending machine at select franchises in Singapore.
While 7-Eleven is known for its cheap and fast food, this is a new achievement for the company. In Singapore, customers can have their mashed potatoes in an instant, complete with gravy. The chain uses Maggi's mashed potato mix in order to deliver the goods to hungry consumers.
7-Eleven has not debuted the machine in the United States yet, though many wonder if it is just a matter of time before the potatoes come to America.
"The machine, which is increasingly popular in China and Japan, is rumored to make its way to U.S. stores by the end of the year," blogged the Yumologist.
According to the company's website, "7-Eleven has been the leader in franchising and licensing in the convenience store industry for 48 years."
It currently operates over 46,000 stores in various countries including Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Norway, Singapore, and Denmark.

Of course, there are those who don't see the mashed potato machine as a benefit of any sort. "7/11 unveiled a mashed potato vending machine?? And some wonder why this country is so fat!" tweeted Cupcake.
"Don't worry guys, you can get a Mashed Potatoes 'N Gravy Big Gulp at 7Eleven now (AMERICA IS SO FAT)" added Nick Woods.
The machine also has its share of fans who hope they don't have to wait long to get their mashed potato fix.
"Totally gross, but keeping it real 2 say don't judge me if caught in PJ's at midnight eating taters out of a machine," tweeted Kwana Jackson.
"Mashed potato & gravy vending machine. All types of brilliant/revolting," noted Pollycasb.
